About James Neal
James joined Schott Mauss & Associates in 2011, where he practices workers’ compensation law. After receiving bachelor degrees in political science and sociology from the University of Iowa, he graduated from Drake University Law School in May 2009. While in law school, he twice interned with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and was the 2009 recipient of the Robert J. Kromminga Award for excellence in client representation and advocacy in Drake’s Legal Clinic.
James grew up in the Nebraska Sandhills. His mother still lives on the land his grandparents ranched from the early years of the Great Depression until the late 1980s. He moved to Iowa to attend college. Although he enjoys making trips back to the family ranch, he now considers Iowa home and is very grateful he is able to help Iowa workers.
